Julius Caesar: The Making of a Dictator

46 years ago, 6-year-old Mary Boyle vanished from her grandparents’ house in Donegal. She is Ireland's longest-missing child. In the second episode of the current series of Scannal, Mary’s mother and sister reflect on the disappearance of a beloved daughter and sister and the impact it has had, and continues to have, on the family.

Louis Theroux Interviews Chelsea Manning

BBC2, 9.15pm

This week his interviewee is ex- U.S. Army intelligence analyst Chelsea Manning. She talks about her decision to release a set of classified documents, detailing human rights abuse, torture of prisoners and more, as well as her subsequent time in prison. Chelsea speaks about the impact of those events on her mental health and looks back on her upbringing in rural Oklahoma.

Villages by the Sea

BBC Two, 7pm

In the current series' penultimate edition, Ben Robinson unearths the ancient past of Greyabbey, a small village on Northern Ireland's beautiful Strangford Lough. While the village's name comes from its Cistercian abbey-monastery, this a story of life from the sea - of the money-making kelp industry and ingenious methods of catching fish. In addition, the village has some of the most impressive archaeological remains in Northern Ireland, including a Neolithic boat that predates the Pyramids and stone fish traps that are almost 1,000 years old.

Fur Babies

Channel 4, 8pm

Animal pregnancies can be an anxious time, and not every story gets a happy ending. This new series follows vets Dr James Greenwood and Dr Bolu Eso as they support owners and the mums-to-be and celebrate the bond between pets and the people who love them. In the first episode we meet Holly, whose chocolate Labrador Bella is about to have her first litter. A scan suggests she's expecting five pups, and Holly hopes at least one of them will be a female, which she will keep as a companion to Bella, but the birth delivers more than anyone was expecting. Meanwhile, Kelly finds that her cat's pregnancy brings back memories of her own traumatic birth experience.

Tension-filled apocalyptic thriller based on Rumaan Alam’s bestselling 2020 novel of the same name. It tells the story of the Sandfords: Amanda, Clay, and their children Charlie and Rose, whose supposedly idyllic getaway is turned on its head by the arrival of two strangers with bad news — they need shelter because a blackout caused by a mysterious cyber attack is on its way. Oscar winners Julia Roberts and Mahershali Ali head the impressive cast.
