Business movers: People starting new jobs in Ireland

Here is a selection of people starting new roles with Mason Hayes & Curran, Mazars, Aviva Insurance, Quintain, Hibernia Real Estate Group and Mortgage Navigators.

Laura Herangi has been appointed as a partner and head of the data solutions group with law firm Mason Hayes & Curran. Laura has deep expertise in all areas of data retrieval and management. She primarily advises clients in the management of large-scale discovery projects, information and data gathering for regulatory and corporate investigations, and in the management of responses to data subject access requests. Laura was previously a litigation lawyer, skilled in accurate data retrieval and management in the context of both investigations and disputes. Laura is a graduate of University College Dublin and UCD Smurfit School of Business.

Chris Monks has been appointed as financial services consulting partner with Mazars, the audit, tax, advisory and consulting firm. He will lead the firm’s prudential risk consulting team, advising financial services clients on their prudential risk and associated compliance. Chris has over 20 years’ experience in providing regulatory, risk management and compliance services to regulated entities including banks, insurance, asset management, EMI and MIFID firms. He is an ACOI (Association of Compliance Officers in Ireland) and a QFA as well as a part-time regulatory lecturer. Mazars Ireland had 25% YOY revenue growth and expects to break €100m in revenues by 2026.

Hazel Keegan has been appointed as construction underwriting manager at Aviva Insurance Ireland. Hazel brings extensive experience and expertise in the construction and engineering sectors to her new role, and has worked in underwriting since 2003. She was previously the senior construction underwriter with Great American International Insurance. Prior to that she held senior underwriting roles with HSB Engineering Insurance Limited and Zurich Insurance. Hazel holds a BA in history and politics from University College Dublin. Aviva currently employs more than 1,650 across the company’s three Irish locations in Dublin, Galway and Cork.  

Isabelle Gallagher has been appointed as head of development with property developer Quintain Ireland. She brings a wealth of expertise to her new role. Since 2019, she has been Quintain’s development director, driving development projects including Adamstown, where helped obtain planning permission for 1,800 residential units. She previously held key roles at Hudson Advisors Ireland, notably as senior vice president of real estate management for three years. She also spent ten years with Savills Ireland. She holds an MBA and a BSc in Business Management, both DIT, postgraduate Surveying studies at University of Reading. She is a member of SCSI. 

Camilla Taaffe has joined Hibernia Real Estate Group as chief operations officer, succeeding Frank O’Neill when he retires at the end of 2023. Camilla has joined from JLL Ireland, where she worked for over 14 years, most recently as COO. “We are delighted that Camilla has joined Hibernia. She brings considerable property and operations experience and we are looking forward to working with her. Frank is one of the founders of Hibernia and he has played a huge part in its success over the past decade. We wish him all the best for his retirement,” said Tom Edwards-Moss, CEO of Hibernia. 

Karen Coleman has been appointed as senior mortgage consultant with Mortgage Navigators, a new division of Cork-based accounting, tax and financial advisor Contracting Plus. A qualified financial advisor with over 24 years banking experience, Karen has worked with AIB, PTSB and the Credit Union. She joins the Mortgage Navigators team with a wealth of experience in accessing the various major lenders, notably for borrowing by self-employed individuals and company owners. Qualified in Banking and Law, she has expertise in underwriting and legal process, and in banks’ mortgage processes and lending policies. She is a member of the Institute of Bankers.
