Limerick GAA have confirmed the addition of two new members to John Kiely’s ticket, with John Flavin joining as a coach and Joe O’Connor returning in the role of High Performance Manager.
They will join Kiely, head coach Paul Kinnerk and selectors Donal O Grady, Aonghus O’Brien and Alan Cunningham to complete the management team for 2024.
Flavin previously served as a selector under Kiely with the U21s.
O’Connor has worked with numerous successful sides including the Kerry footballers in 2011, the All-Ireland winner Clare hurlers of 2013 and Limerick during their 2018 breakthrough. Outside of hurling he worked with Athletics Ireland and is the founder of Nisus, a hybrid fitness company. The Rathkeale native is a lecturer at Munster Technological University.
O’Connor left his role as in 2019 and was replaced by Mikey Kiely, who subsequently departed to join Ulster Rugby in 2021. Belfast’s Cairbre Ó Cairealláin then came on board as strength and conditioning coach and remains in that role.
It was confirmed last month that performance coach Caroline Currid will not be on board next season.
Limerick’s league gets underway on February 4 when they welcome Antrim to the Gaelic Grounds.
