Clanmaurice claimed back-to-back Munster Intermediate titles, showing the never-say-die spirit that has been the hallmark of the club.
It's now seven Munster club titles in a row for the Kerry side; five Junior and two Intermediate. The latest was won with a panel of only 17 players, including two goalkeepers.
Having dominated the opening 20 minutes, they allowed a very good Shannon Rovers side back into the game thanks to a superb Gillian McKenna goal.
But with Sara Murphy and Niamh Lynch imperious in the Clanmaurice defence, shooting star Patrice Diggin helped them regain control with a series of points.
Clanmaurice lead by two going into added time and then Shannon Rovers struck when Aoife McLoughney's 45 went all the way to the net.
It looked like heartbreak for the Kerry girls, but when Patrice Diggin was fouled near the sideline 45 metres out, the same player had ice in her veins, to drill the free over the black spot.
Clanmaurice dominated extra time with their outstanding centre back Niamh Leen controlling the air space with some magnificent fetching.
Jackie Horgan hit the crossbar and Shannon Rangers keeper Aine Slattery
denied her with the latest in a series of superb saves.
But Horgan eventually found the net and Diggin made it a five-point game.
Shannon Rovers tried to the end but Clanmaurice weren't to be denied and joint captains Niamh Leen and Michelle Costello accepted the cup for the overjoyed Kerry champions.
