Orla O'Dwyer inspired Brisbane to claim another AFLW Grand Final spot thanks to a hard-fought win over Geelong earlier.

The Lions ultimately ran out 38-34 winners in the first preliminary final with the Tipperary native kicking a vital goal.

Fellow Irish import Jennifer Dunne featured throughout for Brisbane too, while O'Dwyer was withdrawn late on after a heavy hit.

Aisling Maloney kicked a goal for Geelong, while Rachel Kearns and Anna Rose Kennedy also lined out.

It will be either North Melbourne or Adelaide Crows next up in what will be the Lions' fifth final in eight seasons.
