Last week, MacGowan’s wife informed her followers that her husband — who turns 66 on Christmas Day — was “feeling much better”.
“I am so grateful to everyone who is willing him to get home for the Christmas,” she said.
The Fairytale of New York singer has been in a wheelchair full-time since he broke his pelvis in 2015 and it is believed he has been in hospital since the summer.
It comes after Imelda May paid a visit to the singer earlier this week.
The Dubliner reshared an image alongside her “darlin’ Shane” adding that it was “so good” to see him.
The Pogues frontman and journalist Victoria Mary Clarke tied the knot in a small ceremony in Copenhagen in 2018.
