Back to Dundalk for another Wednesday card and the nap goes to Dream Ticket, who can carry top weight to victory in the Irishinjuredjockeys.com Nursery.

Willie McCreery’s Dariyan filly showed a degree of promise on her first three outings, all on the turf, but stepped up nicely when making her all-weather and handicap debut here last Friday. While she had to settle for second place behind Bergamasco, she was nicely clear of the other runners, and the winner has since been raised 10lbs to a mark of 84.

The selection has also been given 3lbs for her effort but is running off her old mark of 63 and has the added bonus of Jack Kearney’s 5lb claim. The way she travelled in that race suggests she could be on an upward curve, and this is a perfect opportunity for her to get her head in front.

Haalim catches the eye in the first division of the Dundalk Stadium Gift Vouchers Available Online Handicap. Quite well beaten on his first two starts, last month he came to this track for his third start and there was certain promise in his effort despite finishing eighth of 12 behind Bolt Optimist.

Out the back and quite keen in the early stages, he ought not have been able to muster a late effort but actually kept going quite well to be beaten just over seven lengths. He makes his handicap debut off a lowly 52 and has leading claims in a modest event. James Henry is a long-standing maiden but ran a big race in defeat on his most recent outing and a similar performance should ensure he reaches the frame once more.

Never Cry Never can take the DKITSU Race Day Maiden for Fozzy Stack and Colin Keane. Unraced at two, he was well beaten on debut, ran a little better second time, but stepped up quite nicely when making his all-weather debut here a fortnight ago. That was also his first time trying seven furlongs and he ran better than his fifth-place finish might suggest.

Pushed up to go forward off a slow start, he and another rival went quite fast in front, and it was only in the closing stages that he got tired. Dropping back to six furlongs looks like a positive for him, as does his lower draw, and this strong sort can make all the running this time.
