Another midweek visit to Dundalk and Nakassama can reverse recent form with Not Forgotten when they renew rivalry in the fourth race, the Floodlit Fridays At Dundalk Stadium Maiden.
When they clashed in a course-and-distance maiden 12 days ago, the pair finished second and third behind Persian Jewel, with Not Forgotten a length in front of the selection.
However, there are a couple of reasons to believe the form can be turned around. Firstly, Nakassama was slow to leave the stalls and had to be rushed up to take a prominent position. He then ran into a little trouble in the straight and also looked somewhat green as his rider tried to persuade him to pick up again to mount a challenge. To his credit, however, he stuck to his task quite well and the application of cheekpieces for this race might be enough to sharpen him up that little bit.
He is also much better drawn this time, in three, and his previous form suggests he can break better than he did last time. He stays this trip well and if he can sit handy through the early stages, he will be hard to beat.
Not Forgotten is officially rated 4lbs higher than the selection but he held every chance last time and has become frustrating to follow. Ability-wise, there are races to be won with him but at this stage the percentage call is to take the chance to oppose him.
Sumptuary Law can make it third time lucky by taking the second division of the View Restaurant At Dundalk Stadium Median Auction Maiden. A promising fourth on debut, on her second start Ger Lyons’ filly was no match for Orderofthephoenix but time is likely to show that effort in better light.
She was drawn high that day, slowly away and consequently forced to race wide most of the way, but she is much better drawn this time. Her dam’s two wins were over trips a little further than a mile and if she is ridden a little more positively this time, she can get her head in front. There are five newcomers in the race all with something to recommend them and are worth noting in the betting.
Little Keilee can continue the fine run of Ciarán Murphy by taking the Gateway Hotel Dundalk Race & Stay Handicap. The three-year-old filly has had a busy year but her most recent effort, last week at this track, was close to the best she produced this season. In fact, she could be considered unlucky as he ran into trouble on a couple of occasions before making late gains into fourth place, just a length behind winner Sea Chariot. Off the same mark and with Scott McCullagh, she can come through late to gain a long overdue second career victory.
