A prime piece of land near Killarney town centre with a guide price of €2.5m and residential zoning is attracting "very strong interest" according to auctioneer Tom Spillane.
Mr Spillane said the 4.5 acre (1.82has) site had the potential for 15 homes per acre, but potentially more if a developer was allowed to build upwards. Because it is adjacent to the Reeks Gateway development, Mr Spillane said a four-storey development/apartments might be permitted.
He said the site on St Margaret's Road was "compact, with excellent visibility" and dual frontage onto Hans Liebherr Road and St Margaret's Road.
It's within walking distance of Killarney town centre and national park and has handy access to the Tralee Road/Cork Road and the Ring of Kerry Road (N22 & N72).
"There's very good interest so far and it's a perfect residential site to deal with the current housing shortage in Killarney," said Mr Spillane.
