Golf Ireland has appointed Tracy Bunyan as the new Chief Operations Officer after careful consideration. Bunyan replaces Anne McCormack in the position after McCormack departed Golf Ireland to become the new Chief Executive Officer with Hockey Ireland this year.
Bunyan is currently the National Coaching and Games Development Operations Manager with the GAA where she is responsible for the management and development of all operational aspects of the National Coaching and Games Development function.
Commenting on the announcement, Tracy Bunyan said: "I am thrilled to join the Golf Ireland team. This role presents an exciting challenge and opportunity to bring my experience from GAA to golf.
"I am eager to build on the current foundations, enhancing the growth and accessibility of golf in Ireland, especially among women and young players. It's a privilege to be part of a sport with such a rich tradition and a bright future and I am committed to contribute to its development.” Golf Ireland CEO, Mark Kennelly added: “Tracy Bunyan has been appointed following a highly competitive process and we are confident she will make an outstanding contribution to Golf Ireland.
"We look forward to welcoming Tracy to the Golf Ireland team and, with her considerable experience of sports development and administration, she will play a leading role in the roll out of our ambitious plans over the coming years."
