Cork equipment distribution firm IPP Group has acquired UK inspection and measurement firm Cupio for an undisclosed sum.
With offices in Little Island and Worcestershire in the UK, IPP distributes manufacturing equipment to the electronics, pharmaceutical, and medical device sectors across the UK and Ireland.
The deal with current Cupio owner and managing director Andy Bonner will see IPP wholly purchase Cupio, including the associated brand Cupio Services.
Based in Basingstoke, Cupio distributes X-ray, acoustic, optical, and electronic test and inspection equipment and was established in 2004. Cupio Services was added as an on-demand inspection and analysis service in 2018.
IPP managing director Jack Daly said Cupio has an outstanding reputation in the industry. "The technical team and products they offer will be a significant addition to the IPP business as we continue our ambitious growth trajectory," he said.
"Andy and his team will add tremendous value and expertise and we look forward to working closely with them. Particularly, the addition of X-ray and CT products and services will no doubt strengthen the overall IPP product offering."
Cupio managing director Andy Bonner said: "I am excited and confident for the future of Cupio as it becomes part of IPP Group. IPP share our intention to provide the very best products available and first-class support services to match. Cupio will be in safe hands."
