Last night over 300 fashionable guests gathered at City Hall to join the Irish Examiner for the fifth annual instalment of ieStyle Live. Showcasing the ‘the best of the best’ autumn/winter looks styled by Corina Gaffey and the debut Kilkenny Design collection from our hosts Sonya Lennon and Brendan Courtney, the buzz on stage was undeniable. Behind the scenes was equally impressive as I caught up with some of the team about what they wore to this hotly tipped event.

“My dress is from Cork Clothes Swap. I got my Irish Examiner orange shoes at Asos along with my headpiece. My jewellery is all from my family like my nan and my mom.”

“I’m wearing gold as I was going for a jazz feel. My hoops are Betty & Biddy, and my high heels are Only from Zalando. I found the dress on Depop. I had it in mind for Taylor Swift ‘The Eras’ tour (like the one she wears for the ‘Fearless’ era) but I don’t want it for just one event. I’ve already worn it once to a festival. So, it has another outing tonight before next year’s concert.”

My dress is from the petite section at Asos. I wanted something a bit flowy with frills, which are in now. My black strappy heels are also Asos. They go with everything, so you can’t go wrong. My gold hoops are from Burren Jewellery. I got them as a Christmas present. My rings are from Ivy’s Attic. They have a shop in the Marina Market. Their stuff is fab.”

“My dress is from Love Cherish in Charleville. I saw it over the summer at their launch and fell for it. I loved the colour. I decided to go with red accessories - red shoes from Bershka at Mahon Point Shopping Centre (very comfortable!) and a red bag from the Next kids’ section. My gold necklace is from Betty & Biddy to bring out the gold in the dress.”

“My earrings are Mignonne Gavigan from Loulerie for which I saved a long time - a big treat. My dress is Rixo which I got six years ago and it’s still going strong. I think our whole mindset has shifted - old is good, so try and rework it. I’m also wearing a YSL ‘Arty’ ring and a necklace my daughters got for me with their initials on it, so it’s really precious.”

“I love colour, so I’m wearing a blue fringe Warehouse dress and silver Zara shoes. My Azure chain link bracelet was a fortieth birthday present.”

“I’m wearing a gold dress from a site called Chi Chi London. I have a very trendy sister who convinced me to wear it. I’m glad I put it on. With the Cork Jazz, you can definitely get away with sparkles on a weekend like this.”

“My suit is from Sézane. This is its second wear of hopefully many to come. My silver tank top and beaded shoes are from Zara. I bought this white Olga Berg clutch in Arnotts years ago – it holds all my bits and bobs. My jewellery is a mix – my dad’s wedding band and a Pilgrim ring which was a gift from friends.”
