Budget Day is one of the most important in the Government calendar as the ministers for finance and public expenditure outline spending for the year ahead.
It will break down how much money the Government has to spend, and what it decides to spend it on.
Finance Minister Michael McGrath will take to his feet in Dáil Éireann at around 1pm to deliver the Budget Statement.
Then, Public Expenditure Minister Paschal Donohoe who will offer up the Expenditure Report — the Government's decisions on spending allocations.

We already know that Budget 2024 is likely to benefit working families, pensioners, and carers, among others.
People can expect:
- Social welfare increases of around €12;
- A double child welfare payment before Christmas;
- Free schoolbooks for pupils in secondary school up to Junior Cycle;
- Mortgage interest relief capped at between €1,250 and €2,000;
- Changes to entry threshold of higher rate of income tax from €40,000 to €42,000;
- Energy credits will be between €400-€450.
