DC Cahalane to head Sure Valley's Cork office

Ireland and British-based venture capital firm Sure Valley Ventures is to open a new office in Cork to be headed up by DC Cahalane.
The new Cork location comes on the back of the launch of a new Irish fund earlier this year to invest in more than 15 startup software companies across Ireland.
A co-founder of the Republic of Work on Cork's South Mall, Mr Cahalane is also joining Sure Valley as a Venture Partner.
It follows the firm's tradition of recruiting former founders and entrepreneurs having been originally founded by Barry Downes and Brian Kinane, who founded the Waterford-based firm Feedhenry which exited to Red Hat in 2014.
Sure Valley said it aims to invest ahead of the trend having backed companies in artificial intelligence, immersive technology and cybersecurity since 2017.
These include Cork-based Getvisibility and Smarttech 247, Waterford-based Cameramatics Dublin-based AI firm Artomatix.
