A top-quality parcel of tillage land is new to the market with Cork city-based auctioneers Cohalan Downing.
The 90-acre farm is located in the townland of Springfield, approximately 2km from the village of Mogeely in East Cork and north of Castlemartyr and the N25 (Cork-Waterford) road.
This is a very much sought-after part of Munster in terms of agricultural land, with rich deep soil and gently undulating land characterising the area.
To find such a substantial quantity of these acres in one unit is very rare and there is already a good deal of interest building in the property, according to the selling agent Maurice Cohalan.
“It’s top-class tillage land,” says Maurice. “The issue of nitrates derogation is already driving the price of all land and we’re expecting this property to go very well.
“It’s very good land in a very good location, in short,” adds Maurice, “and I’m expecting it to go exceptionally well.”
With regard to the price, the agents are remaining tight-lipped about it. However, given the way that similar properties in the area have gone in recent months, one would imagine that the demand for such top-quality ready-to-use lands will be strong.
Taking that into account, this conveniently located property should have no difficulty in achieving something in the region of €15,000/acre or above.
