A CORK city centre pub which hit headlines at the centre of a court dispute a year ago between investors, including rugby’s Ronan O’Gara and developer Michael O’Flynn, has just returned to the open market.
Back for sale is The Silly Goose, on the western side of the city’s main entertainment student party strip off Washington St, listed with a €550,000 AMV by estate agent Cearbhall Behan of Behan Irwin Gosling, and last changed hands back in 2007: it adjoins 1A Washington Street, a striking corner period office building, also for sale with a €450,000 AMV via CBRE, and could form part of a site assembly for a larger premises.
With a ground floor bar, commercial kitchen, and services but not currently trading, The Silly Goose’s return follows on the arrival in the past month of Electric Bar on Grand Parade with a €2.5AMV with the same agent, and the Reidy’s Wine Vault on Lancaster Quay, with two adjoining premises, with a €1.4m AMV.
The BIG agent says The Silly Goose is fully-fitted, and ready to trade.
Meanwhile, outside the city, West Cork agent Denis Harrington is selling the Wild Atlantic Bar at Adrigole on the Beara Peninsula, a hugely revamped premises, taken on by locals the Crowley family in 2015.
