In the three-month period to June 30, a total of 15,202 Revenue Compliance Interventions were settled resulting in a total yield of €198.57m.

The founder of a Cork company Altada, is one of 14 individuals to appear on the Revenue's latest tax defualters list.

IT consultant Allan Beechinor, of 5 Woodbrook Drive, Bishopstown, Cork appears on the list with a settlement of €130,365 in relation to a Revenue Audit Case for under-declaration of income tax. The settlement is made up of €81,054 in taxes, interest of €26,622 and penalties of €22,689. Revenue said none of the settlement remains unpaid.

Beechinor was founder of Cork tech firm Altada which went into receivership and then liquidation last year before it was sold to tech entrepreneur Eoin Goulding.

The 14 cases published today amount to €3.7m in total settlements. Revenue said the published settlements reflect only a portion of all Revenue Compliance Interventions. In the three-month period to June 30, a total of 15,202 Revenue Compliance Interventions were settled resulting in a total yield of €198.57m.

Michael Roche Jnr, a company director and future trader from Waynestown, Dunboyne, Co Meath made the largest settlement on the list of €506,735 in a Revenue Audit Case for underdeclaration of tax.

The second largest settlement was for €484,190 in a Revenue Audit Case for the nonon-declaration of Capital Acquisitions Tax. The case was against Louise Hoste, a physical therapist from Donaghmore, Ashbourne, Co Meath.

Amongst the 154 settlements, Revenue said two cases had amounts unpaid totalling €602,955 which they vigorously pursue but said in some cases, collection or recovery of the full unpaid amount will not be possible.

The Revenue also reported details of 47 cases for a range of court cases including failure to lodge returns, delivery of incorrect returns, failure to remit VAT/Income Tax/PRSI, and falsely claiming VAT repayment(s). Court fines totalling €99,200 were imposed. 22 cases of misuse of marked mineral oil, in respect of which Court fines totalling €57,250 were imposed. 14 cases of excise offences for tobacco smuggling, illegal selling of tobacco and possession of untaxed tobacco for sale. Court fines totalling €36,000, and two five-month sentences were imposed. One sentence comprises five months imprisonment; the other five-month sentence is fully suspended in lieu of imprisonment.
